Service Learning @ EECHS
What is Service Learning?
  • Service-Learning is the integration of community service with
academic skills and structured classroom reflection activities
that strives to make students active in their community.
  • Service-learning provides students with the opportunity to
work with adult mentors in both the community and educational
settings. The community-based projects are linked back to
classroom activities to crate and interactive experience.
  • The reflection component teaches students to review what they
have learned from the community and classroom experience to
see the impact on their own life.
  • The service-learning experience offers the opportunity to
transcend learning into real-world activities, makes use of
multiple skills, develops high-order thinking skills, and provides
    team building opportunities.
